Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course
is relatively flat, except for some elevated tees. There are plenty
of bunkers around most greens and the scattered Manila palms and
the other trees, as well as the bushes, can get in the way of the
poorly-hit shots. But the wind is the key factor on this course,
coupled with the sand dunes and ice plants on some holes. A new
lake was constructed by the Marines in late 1988 to alter a formerly
swampy area to the left also expanded the water area in front of
the second tee box, but it does not come into play unless the golfer
misses a drive.
